Delicious watermelon-basil margarita near bowl of delicious watermelon
Delicious ribs displayed by Paul and KyleThe Fourth of July was a day of eating and drinking wonderful things! Since none of us had tiny American flags available, I was unable to do my Fourth of July dance, which consists of me waving tiny flags and marching around like a 3-year-old while humming that Sousa march they play at Independence day celebrations. You'd love it. There were also killer fireworks from the fairgrounds that we viewed from the river. But those photos didn't turn out.

Item 1:
The Transformers movie totally blows. First of all, there wasn't nearly enough transforming. Optimus Prime doesn't even show up in the movie until like an hour in! And the Decepticons don't really come in full-force until like an hour and a half in. I'm pretty sure it was like four hours in when Megatron finally started doing stuff. By the way, the movie is approximately 400 hours long.
I did end up liking Shia LaBeof. He managed to be charming despite Michael Bay's grotesquely overwrought directing and corny close-ups. Stay away, unless you are totally into slow-moving films with distracting product placement. I'm not sure why parents' groups are all constipated about this movie. The level of violence is pretty tame for an action movie and, aside from some aborted f-bombs, some skimpy outfits and a some people saying the s-word, it's practically a church movie. Also: Sound Wave was kind of like Johnny Five from Short Circuit if you took away his charisma and replaced it with Down's Syndrome.
Item 2: I have added a del.icio.us link roll to my blog, on the side under the heading "The Internet is magic." Now you can look at Smart-Kitty-approved links at your convenience, and I don't have to waste an entire blog post just to say, "Hey, check out this Internet thing I saw." Modern convenience!
Item 3: I have started a new job! I've only been here a few days. I now work in author services at Federated Media Publishing.

I am doing as I was told. Boo-ya!

I thought this was a smart analysis of the movie:

Not so worried about the whole lack of Optimus Prime issue, but not playing the old school Transformer song irked me a wee bit.
@3: Welcome.
