Music column! Featuring Modest Mouse as some sort of race of disaffected tree people

Sometimes I think I have an original thought. Then I look on the Internet and find out I didn't after all.

I heard the new Nine Inch Nails single, "Capital G," on the radio yesterday and thought, "Huh, this sounds like 'The Way You Make Me Feel' by Michael Jackson. That is hilarious! No one has made this connection. A mashup is in order!"

Then I, like, looked on the internets. I present to you a track I like to call "You Make Me Feel Like a Capital G."

Dr. Dre's son, Hood Surgeon, will be releasing his debut album on July 24. It won't be produced by Dre (read: Dre probably refused to be involved) and will most likely suck a giant, slightly crooked penis.
Motherf**kers can [check up on] my s**t and see what I been through and where I grew up at, and they’ll see that I’m not lying. I’m not gonna say I was out there shooting motherf**kers and doing all that, but I grew up around that, so I might speak on something that happened around me in my music. – Curtis "Hood Surgeon" Young, via Rap Basement
By that logic, perhaps I should put out a Mariachi or Ranchera album? I'm not going to say I was out there playing the accordion with motherf**kers, but I grew up around that, so I might be able to speak on something that happened around me in my music. You can totally check up on my s**t. I am an Internet personality, so I am allowed to make snap judgments about morons based on how they are dumbasses and stuff.

Last night, I went to see Modest Mouse at the San Jose State University arena. I don't like that venue, but I do like that band.

The opening bands were awful. The first was just boring. The second was some sort of cracked-out circus band trying to make me commit suicide. But they failed. Victory is mine!

Modest Mouse's musicianship is amazing. I'm still not sure why they had two drummers, but the complicated structure of their songs wasn't lost in live performance. Some of the vocals, however, were. The vocals were good, just indistinguishable from the rest of the music.

Every time they put out a new album, I like this band more and more. If I had an opportunity to see them in a smaller venue with better sound, I would take it.

Was that DJ Corky (from Life Goes On) on the 1's and 2's in that mash-up? Because the transitions weren't what you would call "good."
